THE SELF PORTRAIT
In this day and age of identity theft and web communication how do you identify yourself?
What do you show the world?
Did you take time to create your image?
Or are you just you?
As an artist I have always felt that whatever you put forth is a kind of self portrait, a sharing of a part of you. Creating an identity- what you show the world- is a delicate process that most people go through in their teens or after something monumental or tragic happening in their lives- some people do it to regain control of their lives, this helps access a self reliance and self assuredness to be just that, themselves- taking the time to look at the self and see what we are missing, the wonders of the self portrait.

This is a place to share self portrait work (IN ANY MEDIUM) and to talk about the importance of the self and the portrait, as well we will be contributing to group projects in many forms.
